Children’s Climate Risk Index The subnational Children’s Climate Risk Index–Disaster Risk Model (CCRI-DRM) initiative works to enhance understanding and improve management of the risks that climatic and non-climatic hazards, shocks, and stresses pose to children. Pillar 1: Exposure to Shocks and Stresses Pillar 1 estimates children’s exposure to multiple climatic and non-climatic hazards, shocks and disasters. Pillar 2: Child Vulnerability Pillar 2 considers the factors that exacerbate the susceptibility of children and the critical social services they rely on to the impacts of climatic and non-climatic hazards, shocks and stresses. This pillar measures both vulnerability to climate and disaster impacts and the capacity of the community's critical infrastructure, assets and resources to address their effects.
